Our upcoming missions training course 'Kairos' runs from Monday Feb 13th to Friday Feb 17th, 9-5pm, at Woodlands church. We are running it for the first time, because of a growing awareness that our current menu of training at Woodlands did not include something which specifically prepared folk for cross-cultural service, whether it be here in Bristol or abroad, in welcoming, sending, going or praying . At the same time we have seen amazing rise of young people especially, launching out on short term mission and some on longer-term service. There seemed to be little locally on offer like this, apart from longer bible college courses . Tim thought that you might have contacts via Mullers that this might really serve to equip.

We have around 10 students for the Feb daytime course so far, including the leader of BISC, and some of our foundation team, and some ex-missionaries who are involved in the prayer and faciltiation of those going out from our 3 churches, so it should be a rich environment to learn from. We can take up to 16.

Kairos has a good pedigree, being run in about 40 countries (see www.kairoscourse.info/ and www.kairoscourse.org/) and currently have around 20 courses running this year in the UK and are part of the Perspectives family. I'm very impressed with their biblical integrity and professional approach to training (ratio of 1:4 facilitators to student) in the sessions, with excellent support material and audio visuals as well as being very contemporary. Kairos will be sending down three facilitators to run the course and we have one in-house trainer.

The cost is £75 which just about covers costs, but we would consider some discount for lower wage earners if the heart desire and commitment were there.
