Certificate in Substance Misuse Care and Counselling

I’m writing from Christian Addictions Training charity, Life For The World Trust to let you know that there are only 2 months to go before the start of our certificate course Substance Misuse: Care and Counselling. The course will be running from Redland Park URC, Bristol . If you are a Christian who is living or working with those with addictions, this course was designed with you in mind. If you know someone from your church/project that this may be relevant to, please forward this on to them.

The course, titled Substance Misuse: Care and Counselling includes 18 full days of training and will start this September and run over the course of an academic year. The course can be done in full over the academic year (60 CATS points) or as self-contained modules (15 CATS points per module).

Topics covered will come under the broad headings of:

· A Framework for Understanding Drug Misuse

· The Nature and Range of Addictive Disorders

· Treatment Options & Potential Church/Community Responses

· The Development of Therapeutic/Counselling Skills

This course is unique in that it is professionally accredited and Biblically-based, designed to equip Christians with an interest in the field of addictions to get a specialist and Biblical understanding of working in this area. Please see below for flyer.
