MPs express their support for recognising marriage in the tax system

We were delighted to see 15 MPs – including former Ministers – sign a letter which appeared in the Telegraph this week, calling on the Government to commit to introducing tax allowances for married couples. The policy would disproportionately benefit poorer families, which is particularly timely given the launch this week of a new consultation on redressing child poverty. We hope many more MPs will follow their lead and you can play your part in encouraging them to do so!

If you haven't yet written to your MP, the Prime Minister or the Chancellor, please click here to find out more and to take action ahead of the Autumn Statement on 5 December.

Prayer: Please pray that more MPs would be persuaded of the importance of recognising marriage in the tax system. Pray too that the Chancellor would be persuaded to include a commitment to do so in the Autumn Statement.
