Gospel radio station Soul2Sole is set to give away 50 copies of the New Testament in Patois. Bible Society has donated them.
The organisation's co-founder, Carmen Carrol, said that they had had 'a great response' to playing the Gospel of Luke in Patois on the show, so decided to give Bibles away.

'We wanted to engage with people, rather than just play music,' she said. 'Because it's in their mother tongue, I think that people will be pleasantly surprised by it. I think it's going to be wonderful.'

The Jamaican New Testament was launched in London in October 2012. The aim was to bring the Bible to the world's 5 million Patois speakers in their own language.

The carnival will be held on 6 July from 12 noon.
