Fashion Revolution Day – Bristol responds with FareFashion

24th April is Fashion Revolution Day, marking one year since the Rana Plaza garment factory collapsed killing 1133 people.

WeDo Ethical Fashion, Bristol Fairtrade Network and FareShare South West respond by hosting a very special Gala event to end Bristol’s Big Green Week – FareFashion, sponsored by the Co-operative - an exciting Fashion Show showcasing a range of ethically produced clothing, together with a sustainably sourced banquet.

The FareFashion Gala for Bristol’s BIG Green Week will be at Bristol City Hall, 7-11pm on 21st June 2014. The Gala evening will be hosted by Observer columnist and BBC’s ‘The One Show’ presenter, Lucy Siegle. Lucy is also the author of ‘To Die For: Is Fashion wearing out the World?’ and she will be speaking to the audience about what changes are needed in the clothing industry to prevent future social and environmental catastrophes in our fashion supply chains.

All profits from the evening will go to Beauty With A Purpose charity ‘Miss Philippines Disaster Fund’.

Beginning with an ethical pop-up shopping village in City Hall from 3pm, the Gala event opens with a Fairtrade drinks reception, followed by a fantastic banquet sponsored by Sustain, cooked by FareShare South West’s ‘Surplus Supper Club’ award winning chefs using food that would have been wasted by the food industry!

The La Dolce Vita, Italian summer themed WeDo Ethical Fashion show will follow, with live music, raffle prizes, goody bags and celebrity guests including Miss England wearing WeDoReDo and Hatastic!, travelling from The Royal Ascot Ladies Day to enjoy the finale!

What better way to round off Bristol’s Big Green Week celebrations and bring about a fashion revolution?
