Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children -
Donations: We need your help

The City Council is calling for the participation of faith groups in helping them to create a wrap around approach to Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Childrenrefugee child ed
coming to Bristol and helping to fill in the gaps where Social Services and the Council are stretched.

In this first phase of help we would welcome any donations of the following:
  • Laptops
  • Phones
  • Bikes, bike helmets and locks
All of which can be dropped off at the Children's Services Reception during office hours and marked for the attention of James Beardsall. Please bear in mind that the majority of the unaccompanied minors are aged 15-18 so we are not looking for young children's bikes etc.

The address is: Children's Services Reception B Bond, Smeaton Road, Bristol BS1 6XN

If you are also trained in one of the following and would like to offer any of these services free to unaccompanied minors contact .
  • Driving lessons
  • Outward Bounds courses
Foster Carers:

We are also looking for more people to sign up to be Foster Carers for the Unaccompanied Minors and for other children in care in the city. If this is something you feel led to explore please check out this web page homeforgood.org.uk/bristol and then call 0300 001 0995 or email with any general questions and they can give you more information.

We are also in the process of looking at how we can set up a fund where money can be sent specifically for the following purposes:
  • Legal fees
  • Gym membership
  • Funding for a holiday / break
  • Funding for day trips together with staff to see the country and have some fun
  • Extra English lessons
  • Travel costs (air fares) to go and see extended family (once located) and keep in touch.
Once the fund is set up and it is possible to pay into, we will publicise the details.
