Dear Friends,
We are now in the third year of the Bath Leadership Academy. God has put on our hearts the development of leaders with kingdom mind-sets. We are looking to find current leaders who wish to develop their skills and knowledge of leadership within the church and kingdom spheres, and potential leaders of the future. It may be you or you may know someone that this would be helpful for.
Our heart in the Certificate of Leadership Development is to raise up Kingdom minded leaders, equipped with kingdom principles, to lead in whatever sphere they are placed. Initially the programme will focus on church based ministry, but we are planning to ensure that the application of the material and skills are useful in different spheres of life.
The Certificate in Leadership Development is a two year programme divided into six modules. Each module carries 3 days training, with a total of 9 in the year. The modules cover:
• The Call to Leadership
• The Context of Leadership
• The Challenge of Leadership
• Discipleship for the 21st Century
• Creating Missional Communities
• Serving Society
Each session will develop skills and knowledge, reflect of styles of leadership and develop your character and personality to be able to carry leadership responsibilities.
You will be able to start the programme at the beginning of each module, or can select a module that you are particularly interested in, however we would suggest that completing all 6 modules is important.
As well as full participant notes, the programme delivers a cluster/mentor to walk you through the issues that get raised and you will be required to write a reflective exercise for each unit.
We expect that all participants are recommended by a pastor/leader of their local church, have a grasp of basic areas of discipleship and are currently serving in a leadership capacity (eg small group leading).
Our first module is "The call to Leadership" and this commences on Saturday 2nd February (9.30am to 4pm) where I (Stewart Keiller) will be taking the first session.
Costs
The cost for the programme is £300 per module, payable in regular instalments.
As with all our programmes and courses we do not want to let costs be a problem to getting the training, so arrangements can be discussed with you to help with costs. All fees for the BLA are kept within the programme and used to further the development of leaders.
