Bridges News September 2022

Dear friends, As we head into a new term here at Bridges, we want to take a moment to share some of the great things that have been happening recently, as well as letting you know about a couple of exciting events and opportunities to get involved. All of this is only possible because of your support, so THANK YOU!  Dan Green, on behalf of the Bridges team

Have you booked your ticket?  We have one of our most exciting Peace Feasts yet coming up on 13th September - hosted on the historic SS Great Britain, with food by the wonderful Houria, it's a unique opportunity to share a meal with people from communities across Bristol and to explore how the journeys that the ship took people on might resonate with journeys that people in Bristol have made today. Tickets are on sale here... To read about some other recent Peace Feast highlights, click here

Celebrating School Linking What a year it’s been for Bristol School Linking! By the end of the school year 14 primary schools, 26 classes and over 600 children had explored - Who am I? Who are we? Where do we live? and, How do we all live together? A highlight was seeing classes meet in person for the first time at the Arnolfini during School Linking Celebration Week. We are recruiting new year 5 classes to take part this academic year. Find out more here...

Join as a Volunteer We have lots of opportunities for volunteers to get involved in the work that we do. Earlier in the year we announced the launch of our new 'Task Volunteering' initiative, and we are pleased to say that it's got off to a flying start! You can read more about how volunteers have been providing practical support to people who are new to the city here, and if you or someone you know would like to get involved then please do check out or share the Volunteer page on our website - we'd love to hear from you!
