Upcoming Movement Workshop Texture Dance Company

Invisible is a movement workshop exploring the unseen inner life of faith and the hidden realities that might shape how we live our visible everyday lives. We will delve into the book of Ephesians from the Bible and begin to grasp the depths of love, grace, power, peace and hope—blessings that can permeate and transform lives and communities amidst the real battles of everyday life.

Participants will work according to their own pace and ability. We use the texts for movement in our warm up, taught movement, and guided improvisation. No previous experience is required. Please wear clothing that will enable you to move freely. We will be moving with bare feet so no special footwear is required.

DATE: Saturday 19 November 2022, 10am -1 pm

LOCATION: St Bart’s Church, 1 King Edward Rd, Bath BA2 3PB, UK

Glimpses into some of Kic's current projects.

We are privileged to serve and collaborate with inspirational individuals, charities and communities, including churches. We have a heart to reach contexts where creativity can be a source of nurture, inspiration and release. We have learnt so much from others as we have served and created together. Below are examples of recent and ongoing projects.

At a recent arts event Erica Bebb presented  ‘hot of the press' latest art piece ‘Covenant’ from visual artist Malcolm Bourne. Malcolm is recognised in some creative contexts as a prophet, who uses his art form as a mouth piece. The piece will also be a film, and, is a journey from dark to light.

Therapeutic Art in Chippenham

This ongoing project has continued in partnership with Alabare Christian Care and Support at their Chippenham Centre. The course leader Lucy Baile has worked alongside Tom Harper of Kic core team sourcing the funding support, and, sharing progress reviews with Alabare. Lucy has reached many with her expertise, the majority experiencing homelessness in their lives.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my sessions and it has really helped me. I am very isolated and I didn't think I would manage in a group environment but the support and encouragement and consideration provided by all staff meant I felt very comfortable. Everything causes me anxiety and I had forgotten what it's like to enjoy something instead of feeling panicked. I looked forward to the classes and for 2 hours a week I had a release from my mental torment and was immersed in something that gave me some peace and made me feel part of the world.”

Recovery Festival  In September Clare(photographer) was involved in a significant event for our city - the Recovery Festival. A member of our core team Clare was excited to see the fruit from this inspirational non religious event. With advice and support, music, art workshops, connections made, stories told, individuals were given hope as they considered addiction issues in their lives.
