We are excited to let you know that Hope into Action: Bristol, a franchise held by us to provide supported accommodation, now has two homes open!
These have come about through our ‘call to action’ which encourages the church in Bristol to join us in providing the homeless or vulnerably housed with a home, not just a house.
The second home opened a few weeks ago in Knowle West. One tenant moved in straight away and Carla (one of the Empowerment Workers) has been busy dealing with referrals for the other two spaces.
The referral route for Hope into Action homes is via our local partners or churches. Our local partners currently include SixtyOne (Mentor Me), Beloved, Elim Connect Centre, Bristol Churches Shelter, Changing Lives in Clevedon and our own services. We are currently expanding our range of referral routes to include trusted agencies working across the rough sleeping / homelessness sector.
There are four parts to the Hope into Action model (as illustrated by the attached Franchise Model):
  • The Investor(s) - who purchase a house. This could include church funds but doesn’t need to;
  • The church - who turn the house into a home & provide befriending for the tenant. This can be an individual church partner or a partnership between churches;
  • Referral Partners – trusted partners who are already working with vulnerable people & determine that they are ready to live in community with others;
  • Empowerment Workers - employed by Hope into Action: Bristol (inHope) allocated to each home. They work with the tenants, the referral partners and the supporting church(es). If the tenants require any specialist assistance, then they would be referred to outside agencies.

For this special occasion of meeting together we have Val Jean coming to share with us. Val is the founder of One25 and has recently released a book called, 'Broken by Love: Transforming the Lives of Women on Streets of Bristol,' which is Val's biography of stepping out in faith and doing what God called her to do.
As well as hearing from Val, updates from Beloved and Spring of Hope Women's Centre will be given.
If you have a passion for women to be set free from homelessness, addiction, prostitution, and violence, this event is not to be missed!

Donate to the Wild Goose while you 'let loose!'
As someone who works full time, my weekends tend to fill up quickly with coffee dates with friends. Perhaps you're the same. Or maybe you're part time or retired and every day can be a coffee and cake day!
Either way, this is a little reminder that in five Boston Tea Party Cafes across Bristol and South Glos there are donation points near the tills, where you can easily tap and make a donation for the same amount as a coffee. Simples!
Thank you to everyone who has tapped - £2,706 has been donated since last June!
