Changing lives in the Delhi slums

There are over 100 million people living in slums in India (UN estimate). If you live in a slum, you don't have easy access to the services that we would take for granted, like education and healthcare.  Dave and Rhi recently visited our partners in India with our friends John and Allison Todd from the Mercy In Action charity. They saw first hand the impact that the slum projects we support have on people's lives. They visited the slum schools that are providing a safe place and food for many children. The team also met the health care workers who deliver a life-saving community outreach service.  The funding that Bridge provides is critical to the continuation of the health care workers project. This project is one of the major commitments we have as a charity, and we need your help to continue supporting it. Thank you to all those who give to this project already. It is making a huge difference in the slum, helping people to access the health care they need. Please consider whether you could give to this project regularly - even just a small amount per month will help. The team were able to bring back positive reports of the way the children in the slum schools are being looked after and the way that other projects are developing. We are grateful for our partnership with Mercy In Action and the support and expertise they provide.

New MiA Shop, Filton

Mercy In Action (MiA) have opened another charity shop at 555 Filton Avenue. MiA are sharing 50% of the profits from this shop with Bridge, which enables us to reach more people. Don't forget that shopping at their Coldharbour Road shop also helps Bridge ??.

We Partner with You!

Your prayers, your giving and your encouragement are worth so much to us. We also want to hear about ways that we can support you, so let us know if you have any suggestions for improving ways that we connect with supporters.

Pray with us

  • Thank God for the slum projects in India and the impact they have
  • Pray for the success of the new Filton Avenue shop
  • Pray for good relationships with all our partners, old and new

Please consider...

  • Giving to the health care workers or slum schools in Delhi. We have a particular need for regular donors to support the health care work. Even £5 or £10 a month would make a real difference
  • Passing on this newsletter to someone else
  • Doing a sponsored event to raise money for Bridge
  • Inviting us to speak at your church or organisation

What's happening?

  • Cara & Colin Medus are preparing to visit Zambia again in June, as they learn more about the projects of the Fire Baptised Churches. They are visiting with a team from Linden Church, Swansea (and others!) who support the work in Chingola
  • Dave & Rhi Day have recently become trustees of Bridge, continuing their long-standing support of the Trust
