Transform Work July 2025 Newsletter
 

This month’s newsletter brings us four very encouraging stories. The NHS is a constant in all of our lives delivering healthcare to each of us and those we love often at critical times, yet under constant strain as it tries to achieve its noble goals. How wonderful it is that God’s people in the NHS are connecting to seek God’s wisdom and pray blessings over their hospitals and GP surgeries and the entire organisation.

Thank you, Andrew Humphreys and so many others for your leadership as, on behalf of Transform Work and with believers from our medical Christian professional and sector groups, you are connecting, encouraging, inspiring and equipping the people of God in the NHS. 

It was out of a culture of prayer, unity and revelation of the magnificence of the Gospel that the Shine Your Light initiative was born and we in Transform Work were delighted to see the bold and creative endeavours of Christian groups in many of our workplaces in sharing the Gospel last Christmas, providing a great contribution to that initiative.  And it’s equally encouraging that a Parliamentary reception was arranged for this initiative to be celebrated, to which Transform Work was invited and these workplace stories could be heard. 

Sharing our vision for workplace transformation across the Christian community at large is foundational to getting Christians active in this space and so we were delighted that 13 Christian professional and sector groups were able to share their work and stories at this year’s Gathering for Men conference.

We now look forward eagerly to the Thrive '25 conference in Scotland in September, to be held across 5 cities, in which Transform Work is partnering with our friends in The Business Connection and Solas CPC to grow ‘a powerful movement of workplace faith across Scotland’.  As a Board we have been stirred to invest in this initiative, to see the workplace spearhead a wave of revival across Scotland and into the whole of the UK.  

I end by quoting from an online sermon that I heard recently:

So Father, I pray for an increased awareness of what it is to be a new creation. [2 Cor 5:16] says we're a new creation. [ 1 Peter 2:9] says we're a royal priesthood, royalty that represents God before people and people before God. Father, let that profound assignment permeate our hearts to drive us to such an absolute dependency on you that everyone around us would say Jesus Christ is their Lord.

We set out to listen to God for the NHS Christian Network over a series of prayer sessions which we set up to seek God and His voice for the NHS Christian Network. These sessions were open to anybody in the NHS Christian Network.​

The Gathering 

Transform Work were invited to the Christian Vision for Men's (CVM) conference: The Gathering this month.

We had a large exhibit where we met and prayed for many people. On Sunday morning, we took part in their workplace slot on the stage. Thirteen CPSG groups had the opportunity to introduce themselves and answer questions around their faith and work. It was very well received. Afterwards, people approached us at the exhibit saying they had felt God wanting them to do something in the workplace, but they weren't sure how. They were happy to know that there was a whole network to support them. God is moving in this space! 

The groups represented from left to right were the Christian Humanitarian Group, Armed Forces Christian Union, Glory Road Ministries, Transport for London, National Air Traffic Controllers Christian Network, NHS Christian Network, Christians in Motorsport, Firefighters for Christ, Christians in Care, Christian Ambulance Association, Climbers for Christ, Christians in Science and Christian Rail.

We will be at Thrive '25 in September, and we hope to get even more on stage!
