million acts hope

Bristol Noise - A Million Acts of Hope

After 24 years of hosting an annual event, Bristol Noise charity last held a citywide weekend event in May 2024. In 2025 we took time to pause and reflect on the future. During that time, we were reminded of the legacy Bristol Noise has built in the city — showing God’s love in practical ways.

We continue to receive regular requests to support local families and communities, and we remain committed to responding where we can. Throughout the year we also support churches and community organisations by sharing advice, resources and equipment.

For 2026, we’re excited to partner with our friends at the Good Faith Partnership as part of a nationwide movement called “A Million Acts of Hope.” From 13–20 May, we want to encourage and highlight practical acts of hope happening across Bristol.

This week will celebrate both new community projects and the everyday acts of hope already taking place in our neighbourhoods. It also connects with the Bristol City Council’s One City vision as we continue working together to build Bristol as a City of Hope.

We would love to see as many churches as possible taking part by sharing on websites/social media and celebrating the acts of hope they are already doing in their communities during this week and into the future.

Here is the nationwide vision of ‘A Million Acts of Hope’ movement which is supported by many national charities -

“Watching the news or looking at your social media feed, it’s easy to believe that the UK is more divided than ever. The voices of those who seek to spread hate, harm our communities and separate us are loud.

But the reality is millions of people across the UK show up for each other, their neighbours and their communities every single day. From litter picking in parks to donating stuff to food banks, coaching our kids’ football teams to working together to make our streets safer - acts of hope and kindness happen all the time.

These stories are too often left untold. So, in May 2026, community and faith groups, plus charities big and small, will come together to celebrate and inspire A Million Acts of Hope across Britain. There is far more that connects us than divides us.”

How can your church get involved?

Bristol Noise and Good Faith Partnership are inviting churches across the city to take part in the ‘A Million Acts of Hope’ Week (13–20 May 2026). There are some simple ways you can join in:

1. Let us know you’re interested

Reply briefly to this email to tell us that your church would like to take part – whether that’s by celebrating the great things you are already doing in your community or by organising something new during the week.

2. Access resources and support

Bristol Noise will provide participating churches with branding, logos, social media content, and access to practical “how-to” guides, community event ideas, and useful resources that you can use during this week and beyond. With your permission, we are also willing to highlight special events happening across Bristol on our website and social media.

Good Faith Partnership, who organise Bristol Warm Welcome Network and support a number of other initiatives across Bristol, can provide support and advice as well as helping to signpost and connect you with other citywide projects.

3. Join the national movement

As well as letting us know what you're planning in Bristol, please also sign up as a community group to be part of the nationwide ‘A Million Acts of Hope’ movement - https://millionactsofhope.org

We look forward to connecting with you and celebrating together the many acts of hope taking place across Bristol as we play our part in changing the narrative for our city and the UK.
