"When you harvest your grain, always leave some of it standing along the edges of your fields and don't pick up what falls on the ground. Don't strip your grapevines clean or gather the grapes that fall off the vines. Leave them for the poor and for those foreigners who live among you. I am the Lord your God."(Leviticus 19: 9-10 - The Bible)
We recently had some great teaching on this passage at inHope, reminding us how much God cares for those in need. It shows how we can empower people and give them dignity as we care for them. Read on to learn more about how we are trying to live this out at inHope.

Staff Spotlight: Meet Esther
Esther is a Hope into Action Empowerment Worker. Read on to find out more about her work!
What first brought you to your role, and what keeps you here?
I worked in the Wild Goose from 2013–2020 and saw how poor-quality housing damaged clients' physical and mental well-being. When I heard about Hope into Action, I loved their model. In my 4 years in this role, I never tire of seeing how a safe, beautiful home empowers tenants to rest, dream, and build lasting friendships.
What is a moment that stuck with you recently?
A few weeks ago I visited a couple of tenants who have been with us about 18 months. When I arrived they invited me to stay for roast dinner – Iranian style! It was a beautiful moment of generous hospitality and friendship. I was reminded that we can never stop learning from the people we walk alongside.
What's your ideal way to spend a day off?
At my allotment, growing and harvesting vegetables! I also love swimming, playing the bass guitar and walking in nature.
